Leo's 9th month...

Leo is still just a sitting on his bum. He's not really moving toward crawling, not so much on his tummy much but we are working on it. He has four teeth now, which I think is a change. His smile has a scrunchy face to it now and it is super cute. He isn't a napper. Nope. He takes either no nap or short naps and the weird thing is that he is actually his normal self regardless of daytime sleep. I'd say his normal "happy" self, but I don't want to mislead anyone. This kid is 100% happy if his person (preferably me, but for short stints he will go for a sister or Chris or my mom or someone attentive) is within arms reach of him. As long as that stipulation is met, he's all joy. It is hard on me...the no napping and constant close proximity...but he's a heart melter, so I get by. Here he is with Lincoln Logs. When I set him down with these, I face him toward the outside wall of the house, and sometimes I can sneak into another room for a few minutes until he notices me.
Right now, taking this pic? Too far. Hence the face.
He really shouldn't be eating bread yet, but he wants to and it stops him from screaming and buys me a few hands free minutes.
His first football. :) Maybe his last. Mrs. Steck (piano teacher) has witnessed his screaming and is sure with that lung capacity he will be a swimmer or an opera singer.

Sissies love to entertain Leo on the changing table.

Leo sits up and plays in the bath now, I love the basic, old school bath foam mat things because they are still a must even when sitting, it keeps him from slipping around.

I love these pouch things. He does too, when he sees one coming I can see him working to swallow down extra saliva...he is all ready! He is also great at downing them in no time flat.

Leo doesn't like to nap at co-op. He's not really a great sleeper away from home until like day two or three...so a nap at co-op once a week in a pack and play has only happened twice. It's a long morning!
Leo is working on crawling. He gets up in a downward dog position often, and occasionally he gets up on his knees and rocks back and forth, but I don't think he really moves with any purpose or intention yet. He scoots backward on accident.

His bed. He is easy to lay down. I nurse him and lay him down wide awake. He sometimes fusses for a minute or two but nothing serious and then he is down...not for a long nap, but down. Nursing is horrible, he is my only child that has tortured me with his teeth. The others have all had a few good chomps but this kid drags me over his teeth with every suck and it KILLS me and cuts my nursing sessions short. Then sometimes he draws blood. I have been bitten in the past hard enough that I had to check to see if things were still attached...but I've never even bled. Leo takes the biting mommy cake. AWFUL. Not sure how much more of that I can take. Still, he is pretty darn cute in his bed, right? I love his cozy blanket and it is the only blanket he wants.
Lots of crawling attempts.
I love those eyes. His serious face is exactly like Alice's.
Eating toes, of course!
One day we laid him on this massage mat thing and he wasn't so sure what to think. He fluctuated between love and hate.
Here he is in his happiest place...his highchair! I have never used a real high chair before, and Kelly and Sandy gave me this one and it is the greatest thing.

He loves rolling the ball back and forth!

On the knees!
Sometimes the girls put pony tails or flowers in his hair. Me and my boy...I exist...even if I don't take many pics with my kids.
Trying a sippy for the first time. Jury is out. He won't consistently drink from anything but me. But he abuses me. Sigh. I really adore this kiddo.
