Camping at Zion's Camp

Chris and I tend to be really social, and we don't pull off an outing without inviting friends to join us. We had a really laid back August and with three weekends in a row totally open, we decided to go on a little camping trip with just our family. We went to one of the church owned campgrounds, which is on a private lake in the Belfair area. It was amazing! There are retired couples that keep the place running on a volunteer basis, and then all the surrounding members of the church (even as far as us in Puyallup) give hours to the campground every year to cut wood (yes, wood is included), build playgrounds, keep foliage maintained, etc. The girls really got excited about archery...

Alice was obsessed with water bottles all summer and continues to be obsessed with water in general.

Betsey is also obsessed with Capri Sun juice, a fun camping treat.

The day use area was super nice. IT was fun to see a bunch of rope swings! Where can you rope swing anymore...it's so rare!

Want to rent a boat? Oh wait...you don't have to pay...just go! I love church properties! We paid $15 for a night and that included hook ups (though Chris opted for a site he liked better that didn't offer hook ups). There are cabins you can use for $35 per night and a huge lodge with commercial kitchen and bunks to sleep 144 people that only costs $10 pp per night (min. 20 people). There are several nice WA spots, and we will be going in January to another property right by Crystal Mountain, we are renting a cabin that time though.
