We didn't have ideal weather, it was rainy most afternoons and sometimes at night, but nothing like that really matters when you get cousins together who adore each other and adults that enjoy just being together.
It was wonderful to be with Doug and his wife Heather, as they are expecting their first baby in September. We managed to accommodate everyone at the cabin this year because we slept in a borrowed tent trailer, Chris' folks slept in a borrowed motor home and Sage and Mike slept in a tent (they could have slept in the cabin, there was room in there...but the tent was working out, so they stayed put.
It is so laborious to get the pics all in the right order, so I'm not going to bother...I'll just write about each one. Also, there were some amazing pictures taken by Pam for all of us of the family all together and some great ones at Nana's party, but I have misplaced the disc and so they will have to be posted later. For the sake of remembering...the order of the trip went like this: Ft. Collins: Nana's Party, Podre River float, Water World, Cabin in Colorado Springs.
Chris loves his Nana! He was growing out a goatee in order to take an intentionally tacky family picture (you'll have to wait for the Christmas cards, folks) and wasn't thrilled that he was sporting the facial hair in this pic with Nana.
Mattie, Beckett, Pierce, Porter, Ruby and Alice...
Porter and Pierce on the cabin swing...
Beckett is the cutest little guy! I adore his little face with those sweet glasses. He is at such a fun age, but so much a fan of his mommy, so he wasn't really into me...I guess that's fair, because my hands were full with Bee anyway. Still...I adored him from afar.
This girl may not have had her hair done even one time the last four or five days of the trip. When you are at the cabin, does it matter? Alice loved digging around the stream the runs in front of the cabin.
The kids spent a great deal of time along the stream playing with the water and changing it's course...so did the men and Heather! The adults did a great job of changing up the stream so that it is more kid friendly.
Zoe is definitely a show stopper. She had my attention pretty much every time she opened her mouth. Yes, please!
Porter was so brave in the pool!
I feel so blessed to have such a great extended in-law family. We always have such a great time together and going home and saying goodbye is always hard!
