One thing we didn't bargain for was that we live in the path of a lot of middle school traffic...pedestrian traffic, and recently they have taken to kicking the boards of our fence so that they are BROKEN in half. This is wonderful since then our dog gets out, not to mention that our fence is in need of major repair...there are probably 25 boards currently broken, and more happen everyday. SO FRUSTRATING. I want to set up a video surveillance and nab the kids. I am sure the principal could identify them if we got it on video and hopefully the parents would want their child to make it right.
Grrrrrr.

that would drive me CRAZY!
one of my friends bought a home in orem that had a partial fence...and then found out that many kids took a shortcut THROUGH their yard. it drove them nuts!
shortly after, a dumb teenage boy took the corner by their house too fast and wiped out about 10ft of the existing fence (i think it was a rock or stamped concrete fence...HEAVY DUTY.) he then proceeded to speed off. my friend's husband had just gotten out of his car and saw it happen. he jumped back in his car and followed the kid...right to his house! such a MESS!
why do teenagers do such stupid stuff sometimes? i guess it's a part of growing up...but it stinks when others have to pay for it!
That is not nice. We used to live in house that backed up to a pathway that junior high students used to get to and from school. Sometimes we would catch them smoking out there. Several times we found discarded porn magazines, and one time a couple of kids tried to steal our trampoline.
You could set up a web cam which is pretty cheap to set up. What would really work is to have a vicious pitbull in the back yard and when the kid kicks in the fence the dog gets out and eats one or two of the bad kids and scares the rest away. It would only take one day rental of the pitbull and it would be over. As soon as the dog is done eating the kid, you could take it back to the owner and when the police come over to arrest you, you can say you don't own a pitbull and they will believe you and leave. Good plan? Don't read this to the girls as they might think differently about their Oma.
